Whether you’re continuing from a previous class or diving back in after a break, you’ll explore techniques to elevate your work—including color mixing, choosing palettes, creating depth, mastering perspective, adding texture, and painting reflections. With expert guidance from instructor Stephanie Spackman, you’ll sharpen your artistic eye and refine your technique in a supportive, hands-on environment.

This is an ongoing adult class that meets every week and offers a crossover between drawing and painting. We will explore different methods and tools that are used with pastels to take one from starting out with a sketch to establishing values, to working with color. Going with techniques from blending to cross-hatching and onto layering, it will bring you to your finished art pieces ready to be matted and framed. Bring your own materials. Head outside on Friday mornings with our experienced Plein Air Instructors, 10:00am-12:00pm. Everyone should be prepared for the elements, as class will be outside weather permitting (meet at the SHAC at 10am and then proceed on to location).
