Classes
At The SHAC, we’re proud to offer a wide variety of classes designed to inspire creativity and welcome everyone into the world of art. We now have four main types of classes to choose from:
Adult Fine Art Classes – Dive deeper into traditional art forms with courses like Beginning Watercolor and Painting with Rusty.
Adult Workshops – Explore hands-on, creative experiences ranging from doormat making and front porch pots to paint-your-pet nights, weaving, fused glass, cookie decorating, and so much more.
Youth Classes & Workshops – A new name for our youth section, this is where you’ll find classes and workshops created especially for kids and teens.
Special Needs Art Classes – Our Peacock Art Club (PAC) is designed to be inclusive and adaptive for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. These classes ensure that every artist has a space to thrive.
Our classes and programs play an important role in creative aging, healing, and overall well-being for participants of all backgrounds, including older adults and veterans. Through hands-on arts experiences, individuals are given space to process emotions, reduce stress, and reconnect with themselves and others in a supportive, community-centered environment. For seniors, creative engagement promotes cognitive health, social connection, and lifelong learning; for veterans, the healing arts offer opportunities for reflection, resilience, and meaningful self-expression. Across all programs, our classes empower participants to build confidence, develop skills, and experience the restorative power of creativity. By prioritizing accessibility and inclusive programming, we ensure the arts serve as a pathway to healing, connection, and improved quality of life.
Whether you’re picking up a brush for the first time, exploring a new hobby, or expanding your skills, The SHAC has a class waiting for you. Join us in discovering new techniques, connecting with others, and growing through art.
Refund Policy- No refunds will be given for any class cancelled less than 7 days prior to start of class. 35% of your class fee is a donation to support our nonprofit arts center.
