    Explore the playful world of mixed media in this fun, creative collage class! Combine paint, paper, and layered textures to create a one-of-a-kind artwork full of color and personality. You’ll experiment with painting techniques while incorporating collage elements to build depth and visual interest. Feel free to bring along special papers, photocopies of meaningful photos, or favorite magazine clippings to personalize your piece and make it truly your own. Perfect for all skill levels, come ready to play, explore, and leave with a beautiful finished painting!

  • March 18th | 6:00-8:00 PM

    Not all abstracts are made of squares and circles! In this class, explore a fresh and expressive approach to abstract art using watercolor, inks, and acrylics. You’ll experiment with color, movement, mark-making, and layering to create dynamic compositions that go beyond traditional shapes. This class encourages creative freedom and playful exploration while offering guidance and inspiration along the way. All supplies are included, but if you have favorite brushes or paints you love working with, feel free to bring them along. Perfect for all experience levels—come ready to loosen up and discover new ways to create abstract art!

  • Beginning March 25th | 5:00-6:30pm

    This drawing class will take the student from foundational concepts like; construction of a drawing, shading and texture and expand into a more in-depth study of drawing including concepts like drawing perspective, grid drawing and composition. Towards the end of the class the student will learn how to draw using a colored medium such as pastels or colored pencil.

  • Come Paint Watercolor & Acrylic

    Mondays, 4:30–6:30pm

    Keep your creative momentum going with this ongoing painting class designed for artists looking to build on their watercolor or acrylic skills. Whether you’re continuing from a previous class or diving back in after a break, you’ll explore techniques to elevate your work—including color mixing, choosing palettes, creating depth, mastering perspective, adding texture, and painting reflections. With expert guidance from instructor Stephanie Spackman, you’ll sharpen your artistic eye and refine your technique in a supportive, hands-on environment.

  • Fridays 11am-1pm

    The objective of this class is to learn how to draw and paint animals and nature realistically. You may also bring photos of your own as inspiration. This is a perfect class for Plein Air painters to brush up on their skills over the winter months!

    Materials List:

  • Wednesdays, 2:30-4:30pm

    This is an ongoing adult class that meets every week and offers a crossover between drawing and painting. We will explore different methods and tools that are used with pastels to take one from starting out with a sketch to establishing values, to working with color. Going with techniques from blending to cross-hatching and onto layering, it will bring you to your finished art pieces ready to be matted and framed. Bring your own materials.   • Join us every Thursday morning from 10 AM to 1 PM for a relaxing and inspiring open studio session! This is the perfect opportunity to create alongside other artists, share ideas, and find new inspiration. Bring your own materials and enjoy the camaraderie of a creative community. This session will break from June 26-August 28 for summer camps.

  • Fridays 10am-12pm Spring-Fall

    Head outside on Friday mornings with our experienced Plein Air Instructors, 10:00am-12:00pm. Everyone should be prepared for the elements, as class will be outside weather permitting (meet at the SHAC at 10am and then proceed on to location).
