    Creating Spontaneous Watercolor with Abstract Elements and Techniques Workshop with artist Rocco Pisto!  For beginners & dabblers to experienced.
    In this two-day workshop students will learn how to free up their paintings with abstract elements and various techniques used by professionals around the country. Learn about art history and how it translates to today’s artists. Discuss and work on a color therapy project. Learn about color value, hue and gradation. Discuss the elements of art and how it relates to both representational and abstract painting. Push your painting beyond your comfort zone and explore the freedom of working with a mop brush on quality watercolor paper both white and black. Bring at least six sheets of paper and have your paint already dried on a palette. Complete list of supplies needed provided in confirmation.

  • Come Paint Watercolor & Acrylic

    Mondays, 4:30–6:30pm

    Keep your creative momentum going with this ongoing painting class designed for artists looking to build on their watercolor or acrylic skills. Whether you’re continuing from a previous class or diving back in after a break, you’ll explore techniques to elevate your work. Although this class is non-instructional, with expert guidance from instructor Stephanie Spackman, you’ll sharpen your artistic eye and refine your techniques in a supportive, hands-on environment. Some painting experience required.

  • Fridays 11am-1pm

    The objective of this class is to learn how to draw and paint animals and nature realistically. You may also bring photos of your own as inspiration. This is a perfect class for Plein Air painters to brush up on their skills over the winter months!

  • Wednesdays, 2:30-4:30pm

    This is an ongoing adult class that meets every week and offers a crossover between drawing and painting. We will explore different methods and tools that are used with pastels to take one from starting out with a sketch to establishing values, to working with color. Going with techniques from blending to cross-hatching and onto layering, it will bring you to your finished art pieces ready to be matted and framed. Bring your own materials.   • Join us every Thursday morning from 10 AM to 1 PM for a relaxing and inspiring open studio session! This is the perfect opportunity to create alongside other artists, share ideas, and find new inspiration. Bring your own materials and enjoy the camaraderie of a creative community. This session will break from June 26-August 28 for summer camps.

    Head outside on Friday mornings with our experienced Plein Air Instructors, 10:00am-12:00pm. Everyone should be prepared for the elements, as class will be outside weather permitting (meet at the SHAC at 10am and then proceed on to location).
