    Ages 2-5 years old. Parent-Tot Art Class. CREATE and PLAY. We will have different stations for children to choose from. There will be both planned art projects stations and open-ended creation stations. Please dress for mess! Adult stays with child for duration of class. Register for each child who will be attending.

    Instructional Teen Art Studio

    Calling all teen artists! Join us for a creative after-school escape in our new Instructional Teen Studio, a monthly four-week class designed to explore a different medium each session. Whether you're just starting your artistic journey or looking to sharpen your skills, this class offers hands-on instruction, individual guidance, and time to experiment and grow.

    November Focus: Watercolor

    Class begins at 3:30 PM on Mondays, making it a convenient option for students—we're just a short walk from Muir Middle School!

    All supplies provided. Come ready to draw, learn, and connect with other creative teens.

  • October 18th & 19th

    High School Students will test their creative skills by designing and rendering a piece of art in 24 hours based on the prompt provided by our MC Matt Faulkner and Judge Eugene Clark. Prizes will be awarded to winners. You will spend 10am-5pm at the SHAC getting tips and tricks and developing your idea, then go home and finish your piece and bring it back on Sunday at 9am for the critiquing and awards ceremony.
    Pizza lunch provided on Saturday from Novella's. Spots are limited.

    One-Day Art Camp for Grades 2–7!

    2 hours of creative fun!

    Unleash your imagination and explore a world of artistic possibilities in this exciting one-day camp! From drawing to printmaking, you'll experiment with different techniques and create your own unique masterpieces.

    Led by Debby Warner McRae, a retired Huron Valley art teacher with over 28 years of experience and K-12 certification, this camp offers expert guidance in a fun, encouraging environment.

    Join us for this lovely "Michigan" fused glass project.  Choose from making a nightlight or a suncatcher.  

    Learn how easy it is to work with glass and create your very own design with our expert guidance. 

    All projects will be kiln fired and available for pickup in about 10-12 days. An email will go out to all ticketholders with pickup instructions.

    Class is appropriate for ages 12 to adults of all ages.  Children must be accompanied by a paid adult who will cut the glass for them.  

    Please be sure to wear close toed shoes.  Drinks in covered containers are welcomed but food and glass do not mix.

    8 Week Class. Wednesdays, 5-7pm. You will learn great tips in color mixing, color choices, creating depth in painting, accurate drawing/perspective, creating textures, painting reflections and much more. No Experience Necessary. Ages: 14-Adult. Instructor: Steff Spackman

    -Watercolor paper pad (at least 16x20 inches in size)

  • Learn the art of macrame and make your own Plant Hanger!

    Choose from two dates and join us for a relaxing, hands-on class where you'll create a beautiful macrame plant hanger using half and full square knots. No experience needed — we’ll guide you step-by-step and provide time to practice before you dive in!

    Unleash your creativity and celebrate your furry (or feathered!) friend in this fun, family-friendly Paint Your Pet class, taught by local artist Abigail Powers! Using watercolor paints, this class is perfect for all ages and skill levels—no prior painting experience needed.

    Simply provide a clear image of your pet, and we’ll guide you through an easy, approachable method to create a vibrant, pop-art-inspired 8" x 10" masterpiece. Abigail will provide step-by-step instructions to ensure everyone walks away with a colorful and unique tribute to their beloved animal.

    You must provide a clear 8X10 photo of your pet. Please email this to abigailleighdesigns@gmail.com no later than 3 days prior to class. Put "pet" in the subject line and make sure to include the name you registered under.

    Join us for a festive evening of creativity at our Sea Glass & Watercolor Holiday Workshop! Open to ages 10 and up, this class is perfect for anyone looking to make something unique and meaningful this holiday season.

    You’ll create two 5” x 7” holiday artworks, combining sea glass and watercolor to design pieces like cheerful Christmas trees and wreaths.

    FRAMES ARE NOT INCLUDED. All other supplies are provided—just bring yourself (and maybe a friend!) for a night of fun, creativity, and holiday spirit. Feel free to bring your own beverages to sip while you create!

    This workshop will be taught by Abigail Powers. Spots are limited, so be sure to sign up early!

    Parents Night Out – November 14th!

    Need a night out? We’ve got you covered! Drop your little ones (ages 2.5–7) at Play and Grow for three hours of supervised fun, games, and dinner while you enjoy some well-deserved time to yourself.

    Dinner for kids is included (pizza, breadsticks & fruit).

    Grab dinner downtown and then at 6:30, head over to the Suzanne Haskew Arts Center (SHAC) to paint your own festive ornament!

    Date: Friday, November 14

    Time: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM

    Cost: $60 (includes supervised play, dinner for one child, and ornament painting for one adult). Additional children or adults can be added to your registration.
