The SHAC/VFAA invites you to participate in the 34th annual Poetry Art Night juried exhibition!

Important Dates: Online Entries Due Feb. 15 Notifications by March 1 Drop Off Art March 18/19 Reception March 20, 6-7:30 PM Show hangs March 20 - April 15 Pick-up 4/16 and 4/17

Rules and Regulations:

  • Artists can submit 2 pieces of artwork alongside an accompanying poem. One entry of artwork equals one framed piece.

  • Artwork must be an original.

  • Poetry may be written by the artist, a commissioned poet, or can be previously published. Previously published poems are not eligible for awards.

  • Artwork must not exceed 36” in any direction and poems must not exceed 20 lines.

  • Artwork must be framed and ready for hanging with wire securely affixed to the back. No saw-tooth hangers are accepted.

  • All work must be labeled on the back

  • Poetry without artwork or artwork without poetry is ineligible.

  • Artwork must not have been exhibited in a previous VFAA exhibition.

  • We encourage your artwork to be inspired by your chosen poem.

  • Art will be digitally reviewed for acceptance and will be judged for awards after intake.

  • Submission of work to jury constitutes compliance with all VFAA exhibition conditions. The jurors’ decisions are final, and participating artists will be notified of jury results by email. Accepted works will remain as placed and will not be withdrawn until the close of the exhibit.

  • The VFAA reserves the right to photograph and reproduce all entries accepted into the PAN exhibit, regardless of copyright. Photographs and reproductions will be used for promotional or educational purposes only.

  • The VFAA will handle all sales at the SHAC, taking a 35% commission. Artwork must be priced accordingly or labeled NFS.

Pricing and Awards:

Entry Fee: $45 (VFAA Members are encouraged to use their discount code for a price of $30)

Art Awards: 1st place: $300, 2nd place: $150, 3rd place: $75, plus honorable mentions.

Poetry Awards: 1st place: $50, 2nd place: $40, 3rd place: $30, plus honorable mentions.

Helpful hints for submission: The photo and poetry submission should be in JPEG or PDF format. First fill out all the information (name, email, etc) then hit the "+" button under the upload sections for each of the entries & attach the files. Then push both "Agree" buttons at the bottom and hit Submit.  When you hit “pay here”, choose "2026 VFAA member" or “Non-Member” accordingly and then "Add to Cart". Then you will want to go up to the top where the little shopping cart is and click on it and then proceed to filling out all your payment information.
