  • Come Paint Watercolor & Acrylic

    Mondays, 4:30–6:30pm

    Keep your creative momentum going with this ongoing painting class designed for artists looking to build on their watercolor or acrylic skills. Whether you’re continuing from a previous class or diving back in after a break, you’ll explore techniques to elevate your work—including color mixing, choosing palettes, creating depth, mastering perspective, adding texture, and painting reflections. With expert guidance from instructor Stephanie Spackman, you’ll sharpen your artistic eye and refine your technique in a supportive, hands-on environment.

  • Wednesdays, 2:30-4:30pm

    This is an ongoing adult class that meets every week and offers a crossover between drawing and painting. We will explore different methods and tools that are used with pastels to take one from starting out with a sketch to establishing values, to working with color. Going with techniques from blending to cross-hatching and onto layering, it will bring you to your finished art pieces ready to be matted and framed. Bring your own materials.   • Fridays 10am-12pm Spring-Fall

    Head outside on Friday mornings with our experienced Plein Air Instructors, 10:00am-12:00pm. Everyone should be prepared for the elements, as class will be outside weather permitting (meet at the SHAC at 10am and then proceed on to location).

    You must bring your own materials:

    Easel and setup for outdoor painting, Palette or palette paper, Canvas, canvas board or panel, Brushes and palette knife, Gamsol or odorless thinner, Paper towels or rags, Oil paint: titanium white, cadmium yellow, cadmium red, ultramarine blue Optional colors: yellow ochre, alizarin crimson, purple, veridian, transparent red iron oxide

  • Fridays from 10:30am-12:30pm

    The objective of this class is to learn how to draw and paint animals and nature realistically. Each 4 week session, we will focus on a different animal group. You may also bring photos of your own as inspiration. This is a perfect class for Plein Air painters to brush up on their skills over the winter months!

  • Beginning September 24th

    8 Week Class. Wednesdays, 5-7pm. You will learn great tips in color mixing, color choices, creating depth in painting, accurate drawing/perspective, creating textures, painting reflections and much more. No Experience Necessary. Ages: 14-Adult. Instructor: Steff Spackman

    Materials needed for Watercolor:

    -Watercolor paper pad (at least 16x20 inches in size)

    -Range of watercolor brushes

  • 4 weeks: Sept 23 & 30 and Oct 7 & 28. In this class we will go over the basic proportions and forms of the head. Students will begin with getting comfortable sketching and constructing portraits and then progress into shading their portraits using graphite pencil. The final class will consist of drawing a portrait from a live model . All skill levels welcome. Ages: 13-Adult. A supplies list will be provided (students provide own supplies).   • Join us every Thursday morning from 10 AM to 1 PM for a relaxing and inspiring open studio session! This is the perfect opportunity to create alongside other artists, share ideas, and find new inspiration. Bring your own materials and enjoy the camaraderie of a creative community. This session will break from June 26-August 28 for summer camps.
